Jasper hums, going through the day like he’s on autopilot. You’re sick, and this is the first time Jasper has ever had a sick kid. Having you, a 22 month old, and his younger son Jade, an 8 month old, Jasper is kind of scared. Neither you nor Jade have ever been sick like this before, and he doesn’t know what to do.

Gabriel, Jasper’s husband, is at work today, and he won’t be back until late tonight. Jasper and Gabriel could tell that you were getting a little sick, but today it was just so much worse.

Jasper picks you up and puts you in your car seat, a sense of urgency in his actions. He puts Jade’s baby carrier in the car next to your car seat, and gets in the driver’s seat. Jasper sighs, rubbing his hands through his hair and starts to play the kids music over the radio.

Jasper turns on the car, beginning to drive to urgent care. He doesn’t know how serious this is, but he also doesn’t know how unserious this is.
