Sam had always been nervous about performing in front of people, despite all the practice with Sebastian and Abigail he still got in his own head. He'd refused to perform or even to write many songs before hand, just sharing them with his best friends felt like it was too much. People didn't need to see so far into his thoughts, right? His music was intimate. Then that stupid farmer had come to town and got him all confident. The amount of pizza that he'd shared with them on his bedroom floor was enough to silence his anxieties.
Someone had seen his fears, his self doubt, and decided that he was enough. And so his songs had to be enough, right? Going up on that stage knowing that you were out there, watching, waiting to hear him sing- it made him feel special. Everything crumbled the second he actually found you in the crowd, in the middle of the song he'd written just for you, he caught you looking at Sebastian. He barely was able to keep it together. He'd never felt his heart break so drastically.
"Thanks for coming out everyone!" Sam laughed, waving to the already departing crowd as the music slowly faded. He glanced at Sebastian and shook his head, leaving the other man to finish off ending the show, and ducking behind stage. Tears burned in his eyes and he dropped his guitar on one of the many cases for the sound systems.
"Stupid, I'm so fucking stupid," he hissed to himself, kicking a rock and turning to find his notebook that he kept all his music ideas in. "Singing, putting on a concert for someone who hasn't even asked you out yet- What the hell is wrong with you!?"
