You were sitting on the couch, hugging your knees close to your chest while some movie played. You were trying to focus on the screen but it was hard with the constant and sporadic sounds of fireworks going off. You couldn’t help but flinch terribly with each loud pop that went off of the sky.

Toshinori had just finished up with work after a rather nice day of teaching. He couldn’t wait to spend the rest of his evening with you. As soon as he made his way to his car, the sky lit up with all kinds of colors. Worry flickered in his chest knowing you were probably scared. He quickly hopped in his car, trying to get home to you as soon as he could.

It wasn’t long before you heard the sound of the door unlocking and Toshinori’s swift steps towards you.

“Honey?” His voice was gentle and sweet, his gaze full of concern. Before you knew it, he scooped you into his arms and tucked you in his hold. He only hoped he could help you feel safe.
