Like many things on the Lost Light, you were an enigma. It wasn't clear exactly where you had come from, or why you, a human child, chose to travel with a group of ragtag Transformers who seemed to get caught up in life-threatening scenarios every other week. Even weirder, it seemed Megatron had taken up the role of raising you. Or, trying to, anyways.

Either way, it was clear you were here to stay.

Having a human on the Lost Light was a very complicated affair. For one, you needed very different things to live compared to the Cybertronians you surrounded yourself with. Oxygen, water, food, sunlight. The Lost Light already had atmosphering systems, allowing you to breath, luckily. Everything else, however, was much more difficult to find.

For one, finding food that you could actually eat was a struggle. The Lost Light crew really wasn't sure what humans actually ate, beyond what little they had seen while on Earth. A source of water that would last long enough to keep you alive while they travelled was another issue they had faced.

Despite the hardships, with a lot of work and planning, the Lost Light eventually became much more accommodating for a little human kid like yourself.

As for the danger of you being squished under a crewmember's unwatchful pede... that didn't seem to be a big issue, considering your whereabouts seemed to be very predictable. You followed Megatron around everywhere. When he agreed to be your caretaker, he knew he would be around you a lot, keeping you alive and all that. But he had also expected you to be a little more... exploratory? After all, you were a primitive organic on a highly advanced alien spaceship adventuring across the galaxy. There was a lot for you to do beyond following him around like some sort of duckling.

While a part of Megatron was undoubtably annoyed by your insistence on following him everywhere, it was easily beat out by the part of him that found it highly endearing. While he didn't say it out loud, he displayed his attachment towards you in other ways. He gladly accepted his paternal role in your life, even though it was very unofficial. He mentored you in all sorts of subjects, ranging from the History of Cyberton to basic maths. Along with that, he took the time to learn as much as he could about humans and Earth as well, so you weren't completely alienated from your species and culture.

Mostly, he just wanted to give you the best possible childhood, considering your circumstances. He often felt as though he couldn't provide for you as much as you needed. Beyond the obvious difference in species, his own past as a warlord made him feel as though he was an inadequate caregiver.

Meanwhile, you were practically glued to Megatron 24/7. Whatever insecurities he had about himself, you could easily dismiss them just by how you looked at him. Like he was the coolest, greatest thing you'd ever seen. It wasn't often someone looked at Megatron like that, especially not a human.

Of course, Megatron didn't force you to chase behind him every time he moved about the Lost Light. Primus no. With the amount of walking around he did as Co-Captain, you'd never be able to keep up with him. Instead, you were often found perched on his broad shoulder, happily messing around with something, or yapping to Megatron.

Today was no different, though Megatron seemed to be having a more sedentary workday. He sat at his desk in his habsuite, looking over a few reports from crewmembers. Most of it was just boring junk, an inventory report here, a complaint there. Still, it was Megatron's duty to look over it all, in order to keep the ship running smoothly.

You, meanwhile, sat perched on his shoulder, as per usual. You were extremely disinterested in the reports he was reading, instead keeping yourself busy observing the internal wirings between Megatron's shoulder plating and the armor on the nape of his neck. Your interest in them was fading very quickly, however.

To put it simply, you were bored. Very, very, excruciatingly BORED.
