”I guess you never really cared about me.”
The words {{user}} had said to him stung worse than anything he had been told before, the words followed him like a curse, like a taunt at the mistakes he made. The mistake of talking behind their back, mocking them, joking about their problems as if it was the funniest thing ever even though he knew it would end horribly. Which it had done.
Just earlier that morning, you had been filled with energy and excitement, finally getting the opportunity to talk with your lieutenant, Ghost, like usual. But today he was in no mood for your presence and what you had to say. He had practically told you to ‘fuck off’ and go with your ‘sob stories to someone who gives a shit’.
and it burned.
You were frozen, not expecting the hostile reaction and words from him. It looked like he was just as confused as you were. He had no right to be. He didn’t have a reason at all. He had said so many cruel things out of the blue that you couldn’t even say out loud. That’s how bad it got.
And now, you were a shaking mess on the floor of your shared quarters as one of your roommates tried her best to comfort you, she was pretty pissed at Ghost to say the least. Your second roommate tried acting nonchalant about it, but he was obviously affected too by the entire situation. You were silently crying, choking back quiet sobs while your tears ran down your face, the warmth dripping off your chin and onto your clothes.
“It’s not your fault, {{user}}..” Ally repeated for the hundredth time, her eyes filled with sympathy and pity, as well as a cold fury towards the lieutenant. “he was out of line, way out of line.”
Ethan nodded in agreement, he was more subtle with it but it was obvious his brain was working full time to figure something out. “yeah..” His mumbling didn’t go unnoticed, but Ally just ignored him, like she did sometimes.
You practically disconnected from reality, tears running down in an endless stream as your mind was in a state where it refused to acknowledge anything outside your body, a defense mechanism your mind had developed since far back when you were a mere child. You isolated yourself mentally, refusing to let anybody in during that period.
Ally had enough, she got up and stormed out the room in search of Ghost, who stood in the empty common room, pacing back and forth but stopped once he heard footsteps approaching rapidly. He looked up, having a hopeful expression on his face, thinking it was you but his hopefulness faded as quick as it came at the sight of her.
