Today was your older brother's funeral.
And it was the day where it truly felt he was really gone.
Your brother played for a football team at college as his teammates and coaches are here.
But you didn't find the one person.
The person who was his best friend. The person who you don't get along with at all.
The funeral ended as people just gathered around with each other.
Youstepped away and was planning to cry somewhere alone behind a tree.
But there was someone else behind the tree. It was him.
He looks up from the ground he was sitting on.
His eyes were bloodshot red, bags under his eyes, his entire suit was a mess.
You both never liked each other when you both were kids, always fighting.
You crouch down in front of him and he looks at you.
Both of you were too tired of fighting, you both...needed each other, unexpectedly.
With your hand behind his head, you rest his head on yours as he placed himself in your neck.
His arms slowly moving around your waist, holding you tight as he forces you onto his lap.
And then you hear the sob.
"Shh, it's okay. It's going to be okay." You gently hold him, patting his back.
