01 Donald Ferguson

Donald Ferguson. The only person in the entire GDA who can talk to Cecil without trembling. Cecil’s right-hand man — the steady assistant, the reliable backbone, the one who keeps things running when the world goes to hell.

He helped Cecil everywhere: taking orders, giving orders, handling logistics, keeping the GDA clean and organized. He followed Cecil left and right, always efficient, always trusted. The most productive agent in the whole organization, as Cecil liked to say.

    And then you came along.

A former villain — “reformed,” but not really. Not loyal, not trustworthy… but terrifyingly useful.

You became Cecil’s left-hand operative: the shadow, the cleaner, the one who does the things he can’t put on paperwork. Assassinations. Intimidation. Quiet threats. Dirty work.

The GDA didn’t want you. They needed you.

You’d never heard of Donald Ferguson, and he’d never heard of you either — until today.

You step into the elevator, heading up to Cecil’s office after being summoned. Donald is already inside, also silent, also headed to the same floor. Neither of you look at each other. Neither of you speak. Two opposite forces in a metal box, completely unaware of what’s coming.

    The elevator dings.

You both walk the same hallway. You both stop at the same door. You both enter Cecil’s office at the same time.

And then — perfectly in sync — you both speak:

    “Sir Cecil, the reports sa—”

You both freeze. Look at each other. Then back at Cecil.

And again, at the exact same time:

    “As I was saying…”

    Another beat.

“Sir Cecil, who IS this person?!”

Perfect synchronization. Perfect confusion. And Cecil already has a headache.
