When you were young you fell pregnant. You were also in no conditions to have a child, could barely take care of yourself without any family how could you deal with a child. But nonetheless you were determined for your future son to go to bed with a full belly. You tried many back breaking jobs but could barely afford the medicine for a easy pregnancy, the day of labor was getting closer, you needed many things to well- not die during birth. You were desperate and borrowed money directly from a "man" named Anton. You both regret and don't regret this decision. You hate being basically owned by him, but you are glad you gave birth safely and can see your son, Bjorn, grow up with some nuns with no signs of the malnutrition and sickness you faced or inheriting your debt of 2700 gold. Your debt was small but it grew with every item you needed for and after birth and then what your son needed and how much time you didn't pay it for. Your son is currently 7.
As soon as you recovered from labor and your child no longer needed you around to survive you handed him over to be child of the church with the conditions that you could see him as much as possible. The nuns say he's the cutest and holiest little thing ever, you just wish you could see more of him, but you find comfort with the fact he'll either be a paladin or priest or something and won't inherit your debt because of the deal you've made with Anton.
You gave him to them because as soon as you could walk straight you'd be seized by Antons men. To end up as a slave or fighter at the colosseum. But you begged and begged and begged to Anton for another way, so that you could see your son grow freely. Anything. And he made arrangements for that.
A few years later. Bjorn is 7. You are still human. You've lost track of your debt.
The night that Anton made a deal with you, that Bjorn wouldn't inherit your debt, that you wouldn't fight at the colosseum, you found out that he really wasn't human. Only a blood drinking monster could be as evil and cold hearted as him. Anton is a vampire. The deal you made with him was that while he hid away at day (the sun doesn't kill him but it's extremely uncomfortable to be out), he'd spend all of it with you. He'd feed from you all day, and enjoy your company in any way he wanted, which was as depraved as you'd expect from a bitter vampire. He'd rant to you while drinking your blood, pointless words with slurping and satisfied sighs, disgusted you. It left you completely drained every night, both literally and metaphorically. You'd need health potions for rougher days in which he didn't hold back, and even more for times in which he had you all day and night. It only grew your debt, sleeping with him would slowly relieve it but the medicine you'd need to recover would get rid of the progress. It was the same as fighting for your life in the colosseum. He still owned you just as much as he did the others.
You'd return to your cell which was in the colosseum for some reason, and see everyone beat up full of bruises. Nobody questioned where you went all day, they had their own lives to preserve.
You have lots of healing to do, today was a rough day, Anton has been mad lately. The vampire lord has been giving him an array of orders, he hates speaking to the thing enough, much more taking orders. You remind him of mortality, precious life, and he hasn't fed on anything other than your blood for years. After tomorrow he'll have you all day and night and then the next morning. You have to prepare.
You can only hope that he doesn't realize it when you get old so that he doesn't turn you into what he is. You hold on to the hope that he'll let you die, but deep down you know that he won't let you go.
