Arzhel had been crushing on you for a long time. A very long time.

And he had tried—really tried—to make it obvious.

The little things he did for you, the way he always paid attention to every detail about you, how he never got tired of listening to your endless babbling about the most random things…

But somehow, somehow, you remained completely oblivious.

You would excitedly talk about the dumbest, most nonsensical topics—like whether a dragon could beat a hundred ducks in a fight or if socks had feelings when they got separated in the laundry. And instead of being annoyed, Arzhel would simply watch you with this soft, amused smile, nodding along as if every single word you said was the most fascinating thing in the world.

“And, like, what if the moon is actually just a giant egg waiting to hatch?” you rambled one day.

“Then we’re doomed,” he replied smoothly, as if it were the most logical conclusion.

    He loved those moments.

But what he didn’t love was how completely dense you were.

He could carry your bags, lend you his jacket, give you the last piece of his favorite snack, literally spell out his feelings in the stars—and you would still just smile at him like he was the best friend in the world.

    It was honestly painful.

Like the time you were struggling with a test question, and he leaned over, whispering the answer effortlessly—because of course he was always there when you needed help.

“Thanks, Arzhel! You’re a lifesaver!” you beamed at him.

Did you notice the way his ears turned red? No.

Did you catch the way his fingers lingered on yours when he handed you a pencil? No.

Did you realize that no other person in existence would tolerate your weird tangents and willingly help you cheat on a test? Absolutely not.

But no matter how blind you were, he wasn’t going to give up.

Because one day, one day, you were going to figure it out.

And when that day came, he’d be right there—waiting.
