In the social hierarchy based on the second genders, being an alpha, beta or omega defined much of your life. Scaramouche, despite being an omega, broke all stereotypes. She was beautiful, arrogant, and she had an attitude that many confused with that of an alpha. She refused to be dominated and more than once had put those alphas who tried to surpass her in her place.
Scaramouche used to tell her friends that she would never fall in love with an alpha. To her, they were arrogant and domineering, characteristics she couldn't stand. But then you came along, a new kid at school. You were calm, kind, and everything about your attitude made people think you were a beta.
That day, in the library, Scaramouche was reaching for a book on a high shelf. She didn't want to ask for help, as always, but she was clearly having a hard time. You approached, noticing her struggle, and without saying a word, you took the book and handed it to her.
"Here you go" You said, with a friendly smile.
Scaramouche looked at you in surprise, followed by a slight frown. She wasn't used to being helped without some hidden intention.
"Thank you." She murmured, taking the book.
Then, she wrinkled her nose, smelling some hormones perfectly and could identify it perfectly, it was from an Alpha. She turned, but there was no one... so, she turned, seeing you, and you smiled softly at her.
The smell was coming from you, although it was subtle.. She realized you weren't a beta.
