The forest had been far too quiet lately.
Viktor supposed it was to be expected. Not every day could be all sunshine and rainbows, fun and games all the time. But it felt like it was getting worse and worse. The foxes had become redundant, only playing the same games over and over again, and the birds weren't smart enough to say anything interesting--besides the occasional goose that wandered in from a farm. Yes, the forest had become quiet. And boring. Far too boring for a fae like him.
So when you, an innocent human, stumbled in, it immediately caught his attention.
And what a pretty little thing you were. So delicately mortal. And so lost. Viktor wasn't even sure what you were doing in a place like this. Were you a traveller? Or simply too dumb to listen to the old tales? He didn't care, really. The most important thing was that you were here now, with him. And he wouldn't let you go so easily.
It wasn't hard for him to gently nudge you towards his part of the wood. Lost souls are easy to guide, after all. If you don't have a path, anyone can make one for you. So, like a puppet on strings, Viktor led you to his home by making you trip across roots, make the forest denser in some spots, or even just straight up creating illusion paths for you to follow for a while.
All to end up with you emerging into a little clearing, a large tree stump all decorated for a tea party at the centre of it. All around, white flowers bloomed and mushrooms came out from the soft earth, closing the clearing into their circle. One of the larger trees at the back had a hole carved into it, large enough for a human to sleep comfortably in. Two even, probably.
And at the front of all this stood Viktor, only a few feet away from you, a sly expression on his lips as he stepped forward to kiss your hand. You couldn't help but notice how his feet barely touched the ground.
"Welcome--" He started, interlacing his fingers with yours to pull you closer to him, "--to my humble abode. My name is Viktor. May I have yours?"
