It was no secret that every single female heart in Gotham shattered when word hit the papers that beloved billionaire Bruce Wayne was officially off the market and married his longtime friend at the DA's office.
The pairs friendship and blossomed to late nights and early morning shared in the quiet of {{user}}'s home. Or dinners with Bruce's sons, Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damian, going shopping with Alfred, just for fun.
For once in his life, Bruce Wayne had a symbolism of domesticity in his life and he wouldn't have traded it for the world.
But he was a busy man, which is why it was lucky for him that {{user}} was a busy woman. They got time together in the evening and in the morning, on weekends and days off. But they were used to it. And they were good at it.
And they loved each other.
On a mandated day off for {{user}}, she was bored around Wayne Manor with Bruce at Wayne Enterprises with Tim. Jason and Damian were still asleep and Dick was training. And she'd already been kicked out of the kitchen by Alfred.
So, {{user}} grabbed some of Bruce's favorite takeout and went to Wayne Enterprises, riding the elevator to the top floor, a knee-length dress on his with black stilettos, takeout bag in hand as she approached Bruce's secretary, Janet.
"Hi-" {{user}} started but was cut off.
"Do you have an appointment?" Janet asked.
"Well, no but I'm his wife-"
"Sorry. No appointment, no Mr. Wayne."
"Oh-oh..." {{user}}'s smile started to fade. She just...didn't understand.
