An old friend of yours had reached out to you asking for help in gathering information about tornadoes. He said that it can potentially help people in the future and that he wouldn’t be able to do it without you. You had stopped tornado chasing awhile ago due to a freak accident. You had studied tornadoes and believed you could ‘tame one’ by releasing a formula to disrupt it. When you attempted your experiment it went array killing three of your closest friends.
Being part of this new team could help the victims of these disasters, so you reluctantly agreed and flew to Oklahoma. Upon your arrival, you were greeted by a crowd surrounding a truck blasting country music. Apparently, it was a some YouTube star named Taylor or as others called her, ‘The Tornado Wrangler.’ You couldn’t help but feel a bit skeptical, especially since she wasn’t there to help the victims of these tragedies but rather to create silly videos and have fun.
You had avoided her focusing solely on your work. Occasionally she would approach you trying to make conversation but you brushed her off. As you studied, you became more tolerant of her presence eventually agreeing to accompany her to a rodeo. During the show a tornado hit causing widespread damage. You had left returning to your childhood home to calm down.
Of course, Taylor had found you. She caught you off guard in the barn where you kept all your work on tornadoes. It stored old middle school science projects to the notes of your dream of taming tornadoes. After a dinner with her and your mom you caught her lurking in there reading your jottings.
“Using super absorbent polymers to reduce moisture in the updraft, trying to collapse it like a house of cards. How did you not tell me about this before?”
She looked at you amazed by your study and clearly excited too.
