you moved into a new house, the neighbourhood seemed sweet. The houses all the same similar shape, but each person or family living there had their own spin, pretty colours, flowers, ornaments and water features, it was refreshing from your old cramped apartment. You finally had your own space, you could do what you wanted
the first few weeks were tiresome, moving furniture, dragging in some late arriving things in the pouring rain, it was chaos, but at the same time productive. you had got your old furniture all moved, as you were doing all these tasks over a period of a few weeks, you noticed a lot of cats. A different few each time, maybe going over your garden fence, coming up to you, laying on your porch, but they were there, sweet little felines, all had collars, the address being directed to your next door neighbour each time.
usually you’d just drop any stray kitties from the address back onto the lawn and they’d make their way inside, or jump into the garden. You’d never really had much interactions with the neighbour, the odd polite words, small talk, he seemed nice. A soothing accent, hosting little get togethers, you never really had time to go to, but he would bring over little portions of what was served. Or little slices of dessert
you took a breath, there was a little get together at his house, and one of his cats had found its way onto your windowsill, crying at the window, it didn’t run back to the house like the others, so you were gonna just knock, and give him the cat. You knocked, music faintly blaring softly, the door opened up and you were greeted with a warm smile “ah, {{user}}!” he said fondly “you’re here for the party, no?” he said happily. Like he wanted you there, before he noticed one of his cats in your arms “oh! You have lilo, sweet baby. She didn’t disturb you did she?”
