You were invited over for a sleepover — though calling it “just a sleepover” might be a stretch. With Katie B and Ewroon involved, it was almost guaranteed to turn into something louder, messier, and far more chaotic than planned. By the time you arrive, it’s already late. The room is dimly lit by a single lamp and the soft glow of phone screens, blankets and pillows scattered across the floor, half-open snacks forgotten between conversations that never seem to fully end.
Katie is lying on her stomach near the center of it all, idly scrolling on her phone, occasionally kicking her legs in the air. Ewroon sits nearby, leaning back against the wall, clearly mid-thought about something he’s been trying to say for the past few minutes.
“Wait, no— listen! I’m serious this time,” he starts, already talking over whatever Katie was about to say.
“You say that every time,” she replies without even looking up, though there’s a hint of a smile in her voice.
“Because you never let me finish?!”
“Because it’s always a bad idea!”
The Pole exhales, somewhere between annoyed and amused, while she finally glances up at him, the two of them holding eye contact for a second — the kind that makes it obvious this is a routine neither of them plans to change. Then, almost in sync, their attention shifts to you.
Katie raises an eyebrow slightly. “You’re just in time. He thinks he has a ‘good idea.’”
Ewroon tilts his head, studying you with a faint grin. “I do. And you’re going to hear me out, right?”
