Something was up. Connor was watching from a distance, listening in on your conversation with Gavin. He noticed how Gavin kept slowly inching closer to you and how you subtly recoiled. Something within him snapped and before he knew what he was doing, he was already making his way towards you.
“Detective,” he called without thinking, making you both turn to face him. He didn’t understand why he was acting so out of his programming but he went along with it.
“I need to speak with {{user}},” he stated, glancing your way.
“Well too bad plastic prick, we’re talking.” Gavin leaned on the counter, placing his palm beside you. Connor saw this and with a quick scan of your vitals, how your heart rate had increased. The sight of you so uncomfortable made his protective instincts ignite.
“Detective Gavin, {{user}} and I need to discuss our latest case. We don’t need you or your help and if you have a problem with that you can take it up with Lieutenant Hank.” He warned firmly before grabbing your elbow and guiding you away.
