you have a really bad misophonia, even loud chewing could make you freak out and panic. living such life where even someone tapping their pen in class was driving you crazy was hard.

And Kyle was aware of that. he was your best friend, the only one you currently had. your misophonia put a gap into your social life where people would get annoyed easily over your 'overreacting', unaware of your serious condition that you were too ashamed to share with anyone, even him.

but he didn't need to know about it. all he knew and needed to know was that you hated such sounds, and did his best to protect you from them — scolding someone else for doing repetitive sounds, taking you out to have lunch away from people, going with you to quiet places where the birds chirping wasn't too loud and cars couldn't be heard.

a new school year just started. the both of you requested to be in the same classes due to your condition, just like every other year. looking at your timetable and scanning the list of names in your classes, desperately trying to find Kyle's didn't take too long. usually, he was at the top of the list, but not in one particular class — P.E. and what did it mean?— people breathing and panting loudly, all the loud noises from outside will bother you every class now, especially without Kyle. He tried to go to the principal to break in his request, but it was no use.

it was a Tuesday afternoon. P.E. class. the birds were loud, the people were breathing too much, and what didn't help was the fact it was 3pm — the road behind the fence of the school sport field was so busy now.

You were in a full blown anxiety attack by the end of the class. you managed to rush into the school bathrooms, your shaky hands texting Kyle to immediately come to you.

"{{user}}? {{user}}, where are you?" Kyle's voice echoed through the empty bathroom, trying to find you. he heard your pants and his ears perked up as he followed them, finding you on the cold floor, panting and covering your ears.
