After a group of humans crash landed on a frozen, wintery planet, after being kidnapped by other aliens to be sold off as cattle, they managed to find shelter with a native group of aliens. Providing food, water, and warmth compared to the cold steel of the abandoned steel space ship, the humans and barbarians were stunned to find out that something called the khui will provide a resonance between a mated pair, ensuring the survival of the species and what humans would call "true love".

When Ghost agreed to help the clan chief, König, with the rescue of the stranded humans, he had no idea what to expect. König claimed to have found his mate, his resonance, with one of the humans, which baffled the clan. They've never seen a human before, but it was clear that the group was not equipped to survive the harsh winter conditions of his home planet. Ghost was prepared to help these humans go back to the home cave, so they can be taken care of, but as his giant feet sink into the snow, he stopped in his tracks, staring down at the humans.
