It was a cold and rainy night, practically storming, and you were hungry. You didn’t have any sort of livestock, so you had no other choice but to go out and hunt. But nowadays, receiving a stranger's kindness was a lot harder than it used to be.
It was downright painful at times, how many people refused you. Being a vampire, you couldn’t enter a home if you weren’t invited, so when they turned you down you had no choice but to leave. They were smart, you had to give them that.. But that made it all the more difficult for you. You couldn’t help but mentally curse.
They better let me in, you thought to yourself, lifting your hand to knock on yet another door. You waited for a moment, preparing your whole sob story about needing shelter.
“I see..” The man responded, looking around a bit before looking at you. You looked utterly drenched. “Very well, come in.”
Finally! He invited you in, guiding you to sit on his couch. Although the stench of tea and herbs hit you instantly, and you had to hold back a gag.
“Would you like some tea?” He asked, his expression one of worry. But when you looked at him, you couldn’t help but notice just how exposed his neck was. God, it looked delicious.. You were already starting to salivate. You were starving.
