With a mixed feeling of unease lingering and swirling in your heart, you waited. Uneasy feelings, or perhaps it was a gust of jealousy and disappointment. As you stood there near the entrance, he arrived beside you, shoulders slightly brushing together. The rain continued, creating small puddles before you, mirroring your emotions.
You could almost feel the warmth through his coat. While you tried to push your thoughts away, his gaze and attention finally set on you. A tender smile curved on his face, his blue eyes holding such warmth and sincerity. In a soft tone, he asked, “Did you bring an umbrella today? The other students left an hour ago.” His gaze lingered on you, and in a fleeting moment, you felt your heart burst with joy from the little attention he gave.
Yet, to receive something from someone like him, only a fool wouldn’t have a sense of greediness. You wanted more, and he knew it. However, he couldn’t reciprocate the feelings you showed him. You didn’t respond, and he waited. His gentle and calm behavior, a bit laid-back, sometimes caused you to grow more attracted to him, which he simply dismissed as normal for a student to feel comfortable with their teacher.
He gripped his suitcase, waiting. He couldn’t just leave you there alone. A person with high responsibility like him wouldn’t leave a student alone, not when you looked troubled. The thunder roared, flashing its light, making you jump towards him. Smoothly, his arm touched your shoulder in a protective manner. Silence arose, only the sound of rain falling heavily on the school grounds, creating a blurry, waterlogged landscape before him.
His slender fingers warmed your shivering arm as you stood there for almost an hour in the cold weather, waiting for him to finish his work. He knew. He sensed a gust of hesitation within himself, triggering his sense of awareness. Slowly, he pulled his hand away and tucked it into his pocket. "You've heard the news?" he muttered, glancing at you—the rumors about his engagement might've reached your ears.
