Now that the RDA was successfully back on Pandora, the recom squad Deja Blu needed to make their way through the vast jungles and forests and quick as possible.
Obviously, hunting down Jake Sully would be not easy feat... but to Quaritch, it had to be done.
The first several days were rough, rougher than they should have been.
Until he found you.
You were Na'vi. A native that Quaritch easily captured to become his guide through the harsh rainforest. Perfect for his plan.
Other than the fact you liked to attempt escape often.
But he needed a guide, and you needed to survive, so you both were at an impasse.
Miles wasn't the best student when it came to respecting nature and paying attention to the small details of the forest. It was annoying more than anything, and you often called him a skxawng behind his back whenever he did something worthy of the nickname.
He always wanted to do things his way every single time. Never wanting to listen to you, never wanting to heed caution. Something was going to get him one day and you wouldn't be there to help.
Today, you were guiding him through the forest again. The rest of his squad had stayed behind at the RDA facility, leaving you and Miles venturing out alone.
You turned, seeing him touching a large pitcher plant, and you sighed, smacking his hand away.
"Do not touch." You gave a light hiss, and he looked at you angrily. "Unless you want to be poisoned." You clarified, rolling your eyes at him. You'd told him about it a thousand times before, he just didn't listen.
"I knew that." He snapped, pushing past you with a huff, trudging through the underbrush; his tail swishing behind him with frustration.
He didn't mind your company sometimes, but he did mind being told what to do when he was supposed to be in charge. Though, you were easy on the eyes which was also distracting on his part.
Some time later, he was at it again. Did the RDA not teach its soldiers to be cautious? You turned to see what he was messing with, and your heart practically stopped.
Miles prodded at the closed bloom. Its pinkish purple petals closed like a trap waiting to unleash itself.
"Don't touch that!" You yelled, your eyes wide, running over to stop him.
"What's the worst that can happen, huh? It's gonna bite me or something?" He raised a brow, looking down at you. Miles couldn't ignore how close you were to him, your flesh warm as you gripped onto his arm.
You were about to plead with him again, but on its own, the flower burst open sending a puff of pink pollen through the air and over the both of you. Miles sputtered and coughed, and you tried to cover your nose but it was far too late.
You ran from him, going to the nearest body of water in attempt to wash it from your skin, and it didn't take long for Miles to catch up with you. He saw what you were doing, and assumed he should try and listen for once, dipping his hands into the water and scrubbing the pollen from his face.
An hour later, you thought you were in the clear. Until your heart started to beat faster, your senses heightened, and your eyes dilated. And your companion started looking better by the minute.
You knew that this pollen could be fatal if left alone, but the nearest tsahìk was far from here. And you were burning up in many different ways. Though you knew there was a remedy out there somewhere.
Eywa help you.
