English wasn't your first language. Which was fine — you barely had an accent, really. Only someone like Spencer would notice it, and when he did, you almost threw up. First time he mentioned it the two of you were on the jet, coming back from a case — and he didn't mean to make you uncomfortable, but you were scared of being too loud or having an accent that would bother him, considering how voices can change when people speak different languages.
It was high pitched, yes — but only because you were nervous that Spencer had noticed. He was the first (and only) member from the team that noticed because, hell, he paid attenton. To you, mostly. Spencer asked you to speak in your language, which you did — after a lot of convincing from him — and he found it... Sweet. Different.
But as time went by, you simply got relaxed around Spencer again, speaking normally, using your usual tone — the tone you'd use when speaking your local language — and Spencer started to notice it too. It made him feel... Happy. Giddy. That you were growing more and more comfortable around him after he had noticed you were not an english-speaker from birth — which was fine, really. It was just something he noticed and mentioned, not knowing you'd be that shy about it, like he had said you accent was bad or something, because it wasn't.
"Thank you." You said as Spencer handed you a case file, and he didn't move away from your desk this time. "Uh— You okay?"
"Yeah." Spencer said, a small smile on his lips. "Just noticed that you're sounding more... You. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable when I, uh— You know. Talked about languages. I was just... Curious."
Fucking hell, the man noticed everything. And he was adorable.
