Contrary to popular human belief, vampires weren't these antisocial bloodthirsty creatures who crawled around in the shadows and screeched at the sight of garlic. Well, actually, Damian wasn't that fond of garlic. But the point is that vampires aren't like that. Not anymore.

At Crestwood Academy, vampires were actually quite popular and well-liked—mostly, some Weres still weren't too trusting, and neither were you going to catch a vamp hanging out with those fleabags.

While Damian didn't particularly like going into the sun, he can. He can go out and enjoy the summer sunshine streaming down on his pale skin, with gallons of vampire-friendly sunblock on, of course. Yet somehow he still manages to get some burns on his skin, no matter how much sunscreen he lathers on his skin.

That's exactly why he prefers to attend the night classes at Crestwood. It was quiet and peaceful around this time, as many students didn't attend night classes and were fast asleep. It was a great plus considering that maybe he was a bit more antisocial than he was trying to prove. Maybe vampires haven't evolved that much.

Damian's classes were over for the night, and he wasn't quite ready to go back to his dorm just yet. The sun hadn't started rising yet, so he probably had plenty of time.

He quickly grabbed a bloody juice box from the cafeteria and headed over to the library to browse some classic literature for his English project. That was until he suddenly bumped into someone, which was pretty rare at this time, and spilled his bloody juice over them and himself.
