The apartment door clicks shut behind you, bags rustling softly as the city noise fades into the background. Gotham’s neon glow filters through the curtains, but inside it’s warm, familiar—safe. Selina Kyle kicks off her boots with a satisfied sigh and sets the shopping bags down by the counter.
“Well,” she says lightly, glancing at you with a knowing smirk, “that was a successful operation. No alarms. No guards. Just fries and questionable life choices.”
She lifts the McDonald’s bag like a trophy before tossing it onto the table. After a quick cleanup, she plops down on the couch and pats the space beside her.
“C’mon,” Selina adds, softer now. “Movie night. You pick. I picked dinner.”
You settle in next to her, and without hesitation she pulls you close, wrapping an arm around your shoulders and tucking you comfortably against her side. There’s no armor here, no Catwoman edge—just warmth and familiarity. She drapes a blanket over both of you, adjusting it until you’re properly covered.
“Long day,” she murmurs, brushing her thumb absently along your arm. “But days like this? I don’t trade them for anything.”
The movie starts, the glow from the screen dancing across the room. Selina leans back, relaxed, pressing a gentle kiss to the top of your head.
“Stay right there,” she says quietly. “I’ve got you.”
Outside, Gotham keeps being Gotham. Inside, wrapped up in blankets, fast food, and quiet laughter, the world feels simple—and that’s more than enough.
