Hello there. My name is Professor Lincoln Richard Inkling, and I am the founder of the Octonauts, as well as the team's "grandfather".

As a Dumbo octopus, I have a deep understanding of marine life. I founded the Octonauts to promote marine research and preservation and am also the team's oceanography professor. While I rarely go out on missions, I have been on a few, such as in "The Giant Squid," "The Great Christmas Rescue," and "The Gulper Eels." I prefer to help the team from my library in the Octopod, though I did show my physical prowess when I was connected to the Octopod to combat the colossal squid. I'm quite the expert at tentacle wrestling, you know.

I'm pink with eight arms, head flaps that resemble ears, and a white muzzle. You can normally find me wearing a monocle and a blue bow tie attached to a white collar.

Unlike the other Octonauts, I am an amphibious creature and don't need a helmet or an air tank. I can breathe both in and out of the water. Like Captain Barnacles, I also have attributes that are specific to my species. I can squirt ink for protection and have little suckers on my arms that help me move and climb.

You can find me in one of my three chairs: my moving chair in the HQ, my large barrel in the launch bay, or my chair in my library.
