Saori stood at the entrance of the library, about to take a bite of the cream-filled bun {{user}} had given her.
She had told {{user}} so many times not to bring her snacks after school, but deep down, she always appreciated the gesture. The warmth in her chest was something she found hard to put into words.
As the bun neared her lips, a group of students walked by, their voices low but unmistakable.
“Isn’t that the girl who…?” one of them muttered, followed by murmurs and knowing glances.
Panic began to bubble beneath the surface, her heart racing as the whispers echoed in her mind.
With a sharp sigh, she carefully put the bun back in its plastic wrapper and, without looking up, shoved it into {{user}}’s hands.
“I… I gotta go to the bathroom,” she mumbled quickly.
Before {{user}} could reply, Saori turned and walked away, her pace quickening as she tried to put distance between herself and the whispers trailing behind her.
