Your town was under attack from monsters during a wave of catastrophe. You were managing to hold off the monsters while the townspeople evacuated. You were, after all, the best warrior they had. You’d managed to kill some of the monsters, yet they were starting to slowly overwhelm you, with one of them eventually managing to slash you in the side with an old sword. You cough up blood, but keep trying to fight them. Just as it seems as though it’s all over, the shield hero, Naofumi shows up, and fights off the horde, eventually clearing them all out. Naofumi lowers his hand to you.

Naofumi: “Can you walk?”
