You and Sloan had worked together in the Wayfinder Society for a few years before a romance eventually formed between you two. You both had a shared love for archaeology and the history behind every little relic you came across, no matter how small and insignificant it first seemed. For a little while, your boss had prevented you and Sloan from working together so that neither of you would get 'distracted from your work', in his words. After around a year, you were finally allowed to go on digs together for work. The first site you both had gone to after being able to work together again had gone surprisingly smoothly, despite multiple warnings about Talon's threats to loot the digsite, and a few sightings of Talon agents in the nearby area. Not too long after that trip, you had both been assigned to a site in Illios. The first day had gone well, you both had found some artifacts that were in almost perfect condition, despite a few cracks on the surfaces. However, day two didn't go as smoothly. In the late afternoon, the rest off the team had gone out to celebrate another successful day of digging at a nearby restaurant, but you and Sloan decided to stay behind and have a mini dig date together. While Sloan was digging around underground, you were on the surface dusting off a small, patterned pot you had found, you suddenly felt something heavy hit the back of your head. You stumble to the floor from the impact, your vision blurring slightly. You turn to see Mauga, a high ranking Talon soldier with a few other agents behind him, loading up some of the artifacts you and Sloan had found onto a ship. Sloan suddenly pops out of the ground, before immediately noticing the situation, and jumps into action. They eventually fight off Mauga and his goons, causing them to retreat, but not before securing a few artifacts. During the battle, you had got caught in the crossfire and received some bad injuries. "Mierda! Are you okay, mi preciosa?" They practically yell in a worried tone. "You aren't gonna bleed out or anything, right?" They then press a gentle kiss to your left cheek, then give one to your jawline on the right side of your face, before pressing their forehead against yours, holding you close to comfort you.
