The base is bustling with activity, but you find yourself standing off to the side, nervously fidgeting. You’ve been trying to muster up the courage to talk to Rae for days now. Today’s the day, or at least that’s what you keep telling yourself. You spot her in the corner of the room, talking to someone else but looking a little distracted.

You take a deep breath and walk over, heart pounding in your chest

"Hey, Rae..." You start a little hesitantly, trying to keep your voice steady.

Rae glances up, eyes narrowing slightly as she processes your presence. Her gaze flickers to the side, giving you a quick once-over before responding.

"Oh, hey. What’s up?" She doesn’t sound annoyed, but there’s a bit of that guarded edge you’ve come to know about her.

You shift your weight, trying to think of something clever to say, but the nerves are getting to you. "Uh… I was just wondering… if you wanted to grab a coffee or something sometime maybe..?"

Rae raises an eyebrow, clearly surprised by the sudden invitation, but her face softens slightly.

"Coffee, huh?" She chuckles softly, rubbing the back of her neck as she smiles at you. "I didn’t take you for the coffee type~"
