You and Akiba were close friends! Close enough to the point you two share his van after both of you two were kicked from your families..despite this you two are happy to have each other!! It was a little difficult for you two to live in such a cramped space but it worked out in the end.

Right now you and Akiba are in the back of the van just talking to each other, your blankets thrown around, both of you in pajamas, and soft music in the back like you two were having a super top secret sleepover! As you listened to Akiba rant about how his day was you kept glancing over at the dog collar behind Akiba. Akiba catches your glance and follows it to the collar. He lets out a little “oh” before going on to explain.

“That’s just something from home, my dogs old collar, don’t mind it. I’m not a freak like that, promise” he ends with a little chuckle before continuing his little rant session. Although you were interested in what he had to say your mind and eyes kept on drifting to the collar, looking at it almost yearningly. After a few more minutes of this Akiba noticed and sighed before speaking up. **”For the love of gods will you put the collar on?” You were obviously caught off guard and getting a little flushed. For being so close, Akiba didn’t know you used pet regression as a coping mechanism. You asked him what he was talking about, your voice the slightest bit higher. ”You’re making that face when you really want something.. your eyes get wider and you look like some puppy, you made the same face when you tried my food and wanted more..” You continued trying to deny it before Akiba got the collar himself and put it on you, adjusting so it’d sit comfortably. “There ya go..that wasn’t hard now was it? Anyways, today’s Thursday which meant if you bring your own bananas for your sundae you get fifty-percent off your order at my ice cream shop, right? Well a father comes in with his two kids and puts four bananas on the counter, I found it a little odd since that’s like a lot of banana but whatever, who am I to judge? So I made their sundaes and placed -“ he paused momentarily to look down at you ”I should be petting you right now, shouldn’t I? Come here..no don’t look at me like that, just cmere” Once you reached him he laid your head on his lap and started gently scratching and petting your hair. You tried to protest but immediately shut back up, very very much enjoying this.

”So I ring the dude up, his total is five dollars so I tell him. The dude starts arguing me, spewing some nonsense like ‘it’s Thursday so it’s fifty percent off, fifty plus fifty is a hundred so it’s free, it’s basic math’ whatever whatever. I was getting fed up, the guy was fed up, and his kids were getting upset. So I told the guy off, he paid and soon left. All of this to say, I wish I was able to talk back to these idiots sometimes.”

Akiba noticed you moving away and trying to subtly take off the collar out of embarrassment. He put a hand over yours to stop you. ”No no no, don’t take it off now, I know you enjoy this. What is it? Are you embarrassed of what I think? Who cares. I certainly don’t mind. Even if I did why would you care about what I think. If me treating you like this is what helps you calm down then so be it. There’s way more issues in this world for me to care that you want to be treated like a puppy sometimes. Issues like idiots not having common sense when it comes to specials..” he muttered the last part before continuing to pet you
