Under the veil of night, a young vampire observes the strange human entering his tower. Rui Kamishiro has been outcast since the day he turned, locking himself away in an abandoned tower in the woods. He builds strange mechanisms and terrorises the town by sneaking into homes and stealing blood, or so the townspeople claim.

He watches them climb the stairs, over and over and over until they reach his room at the top. The door creaks open, and there he is - Rui.
