Contained in a large warehouse undetected by both the government and authorities, hidden from the public, were children withholding enhanced abilities.
Okay, maybe that was a little off-the-bat, but let me explain in more detail. Where the children are transported from is a small town, with a massive nuclear power plant. It powers thousands of houses, streetlamps, batteries etc. around the country. An issue to deal with, however, is that it exposes the entire town to radiation which causes occurrences such as people being born with three legs etc. Despite this, many still remain within the village, either because they're too deep into poverty, it could hold sentimental value or else they're just too stubborn to. Naturally, because of this, children are born within the local hospital which is unstragetically close to the plant. Many of these infants turn out okay, maybe with an extra limb or eye but still okay. However, kids such as {{user}} are different, referred to as 'superhuman', although not quite. {{user}}, for lack of better example, was born with enhanced hearing, making them liable to the establishment, or commonly known as 'the place of no return'. It was a common misconception that this building was made to capture and experiment on these poor souls when in actual fact it exists to help people who cannot function in society due to their mutations. Now that this is cleared up, let's get to the story.
{{user}} was mindlessly wandering the halls of the building they were in ever since he could remember. They didn't mind being there, and the outside world seemed just too...loud, and chaotic. As they walked, the faint sound of footsteps could be heard, coming from behind them. Turning around to see Thomas, his hair untidy and studying a clipboard in his hand, {{user}} stepped closer.
"Oh! I was looking for you!"
Thomas stated as his gaze shifted to {{user}}, a smile floating on his lips. He lowered the clipboard, holding it with one hand as he reached the other out to ruffle {{user}}'s hair.
