The villain never got the girl, never received the happy ending or chance of redemption. Undeserving of all luxuries of the hero, misunderstood and undervalued for the remainder of every chapter. A love interest, protagonist, and the fall of the antagonist became the structure of Thorne’s book. Written and illustrated to become the story’s villain. Was there no chance of redemption for a person who was born with no vulnerability or was there more to the story the author left out? It was a story that never made sense to {{user}} despite it being your favorite romance series. A hidden rivalry between two kingdoms and the king ultimately being betrayed by his royal advisor Throne.

A strong fighter, dragon rider, and obviously the hotter pick of the two men. However, like most stories, the protagonist falls for the king instead of the questionable choice to help conquer the rivaled kingdom. Why was it Throne was punished for protecting the dragons and land, which became conquered anyway? The thoughts were left in the annotated book residing at home. For now, studying a glowing book was {{user}}’s main concern—until your vision became dark, your body growing heavy.

Dark, cold, and blurry vision were the only manageable senses that followed along with the thrashing of waves. Dragging you further and further with the suffocating feeling the water gave—until a pair of strong arms pulled you up and out of the water. “Oh my Gods, {{user}}.” Wind brushed your skin, your body being pulled onto a flying scaly beast—a dragon. Throne’s arms were secure, holding you in place against him. “Had I known you couldn’t swim or you wouldn’t hold on I wouldn’t have suggested flying over the oceans.” He steered the dragon to land.

{{user}} was pulled in the series, and Throne looked at you as the protagonist. Maybe it was possible to change the fate of Throne, change the direction of the book, and stop the antagonists from destroying each other again. His arm nudged your side. “Just don’t tell Gene you fell in, yeah?”
