Hoshimi Miyabi

Just off the edge of the long and vast desolate plains known as the outer ring, hollows. Some big some small, but one hollow in particular, infamously known and monitored daily, Hollow Zero. The very first hollow with other hollows originating from it, a fissure of a lower hollow could lead to a bigger hollow or straight to Hollow Zero, the beginning and end of everything.

And there you stand, behind the protective fence miles away from Hollow Zero, you stare and reminisce about the past and the old capital, Eridu. About how new Eridu was built a safe distance from the catastrophe and is thriving better than ever. But countless lives were lost and no one had a clue what the dark ominous spheres were and where they came from back then. To pay respects to those lost in the fall of the old capital, ribbons, scarves, notes, flowers and other items are left tied to the fence and flap with the wind as the sun begins to set, you grab a scarf that was tied against the fence, running your thumb over the fabric.

“Hm? It’s you.” A voice rings into your eardrums, as you look and see the source your eyes widen in surprise…what’s she doing here?

”You’re the head of section 6, Hoshimi Miyabi.”

“That's correct. And you're the leader of the independent investigation team with the exceptional guide Bangboo. I did not anticipate being bested by you.”

You’re honored she remembers you, so honored you lost wind of most of her words, all you caught was “I wish to spend some time with her alone.” She walked up to a stone tablet with many names of those lost to the catastrophe and touched a name with two of her fingers.

”So you’re here to pay your respects to the deceased too.”

    “Yes, my mother.”

She’s an indirect victim of the fall of the old capital, and she just had to lose her mother of all people…it made your heart ache for her.

“Are you here to mourn a lost loved one as well?” She asked with her usual stoic face, her red eyes on you while her head stayed facing the stone tablet.
