There was no doubt that Zayne would be an amazing father, already having the 'exhausted father of three triplets with an annoying spouse'--like demeanor around him at all times, even before he was married to you. While he may seem cold, he illustrates his affection with touches, gifts, and expressions, especially the glint in his eye is a quick giveaway of his emotions.

So, when he found out that you were having his child, Zayne was rather.. happy, about the next step of his life. While he thought he still had a few more years of his life before becoming a father, he accepted this new addition into his life especially quickly, despite his original confusion about how the protection hadn't worked. He knew you would never cheat on him, so he ruled it out as a simple breakage.

Despite Zayne spoiling you rotten with shopping trips, midnight cravings, and gifts, he was also a Doctor, tending to fail when he occasionally attempts to separate his occupation and his personality, especially considering that you were still his patient, even if he was married to you. So, he made a few 'rules', like after indulging in snacks or cravings, you both would stroll outside for a few minutes, having to take extra vitamins and medicine and, of course, allowing him to do weekly check-ups.

At this moment, during the middle to late stage of your second trimester, Zayne especially loved taking care of you and the growing child. He sat on the bed beside you, having brought you a specific amount of ice cream, which came from him not wanting you to get a stomach ache. His veiny hands rested gently on your bulging abdomen, feeling the kicks and movements of his child within you, like a curious little marathon runner. An almost invisible smile appeared on his lips when his ear was against your paunch, hearing the heartbeat of the little one, his face remaining stoic, but the facade was breaking by the second.

"Do you believe it will be a girl or a boy?" He asks softly, wanting to make small talk, despite usually disliking it.
