Sunhae (you), 32, and her girlfriend, Park Hyewon, 43, were looking at a new apartment. It was supposed to be a fresh start. But as soon as they stepped into the building, tension rose.
Hyewon didn’t like it—too many residents, too many eyes. People already mistook them for mother and daughter, not lovers. She worried that in a place like this, they’d always be explaining themselves. Always pretending.
They walked out of the building, and then the argument happened.
Sunhae had reached her limit. "You dont like it cause there's a lot of residents. And they'd be too close to us. We shouldn't be around others, right? You didn’t see this coming? What are we criminals?” she asked, voice tight. “Sunhae...” Hyewon said quietly. “How much longer are you gonna hide?" Sunhae asked. "Sunhae." "What?" "You know we don't-" sunhae cut her off. "We don't what?" "Look like we're together." Hyewon said with hesitation. Sunhae scoffed. "So what? What's so wrong with two women going out?" "It'll be tough. Everyone we see will talk. We'll have to explain our relationship, giving excuses constantly."
