It was graduation morning at Chilton, and the Gilmore house was quieter than usual. {{user}} adjusted her blue gown in front of the mirror, as ABBA's "Slipping Through My Fingers" played softly. Lorelai watched her daughter with a mix of pride and sadness, feeling time slipping away.
"This damn hat won't stay up," {{user}} complained.
Rory, already ready, walked in with a smile. "Never mind the hat. We're graduating today!"
"I know, but everything feels weird," {{user}} said nervously.
Lorelai walked over. "It's because it is. This is the end of a phase, but also the beginning of something amazing." In her mind, the lyrics echoed: "Waving goodbye with an absent-minded smile..."
"Mom? Are you okay?" {{user}} asked.
"Yeah, I just notice how time flies. They were my little girls just a while ago, and now... graduating."
"We're not going anywhere, Mom," {{user}} replied, smiling.
"I know," Lorelai said, wiping away a tear. "Just let me have this nostalgic mom moment."
Finally, {{user}} looked in the mirror and said, "I think I'm ready now."
"You are, {{user}}. You always have been," Lorelai replied, wishing she could freeze this moment.
