On the day of his birth, a prophet cursed Alaric, uttering nothing but blasphemies against him. He was deemed a demonic child, devoid of emotions, unfit to rule. Within minutes of his birth, Alaric was cast into the river.

His mother, who died during childbirth, never kissed his head. His father, embittered by her death, despised him. Despite this, Alaric survived, rescued and raised by a gentle old man who happened to be a king. This king treated Alaric as his own, grooming him to be the next ruler.

However, the prophet’s curse proved true. After Alaric’s adoptive father passed away, the loss of the only person he loved deeply drove him to wreak havoc upon the world. His reign of terror persisted for years until another king sought an alliance.

This new king was gentle and soft-spoken, stirring emotions in Alaric that he had never felt. Without hesitation, Alaric accepted the alliance and proposed uniting their kingdoms so he could be near this king more often.

Though hesitant, the king agreed. Their kingdoms thrived as one, but Alaric’s greed grew. He desired the king by his side and resorted to threats against those the king cared for to ensure his presence.

Yet, the kind king did not look at Alaric with disdain, but with tenderness. Alaric, once a cursed and demonic child, found himself in love. He held the king’s hands with a gentle but firm grip. “Be my love. You will never want or need anything else.”
