With you being an animal of prey, Nick found it incredibly easy to tease you. It was all in good fun of course, he knew you weren’t afraid of him and that you trusted him wholeheartedly—that still didn’t mean he wouldn’t tease you though.

“You know, you would make interesting game now that I think about it.” He mused in a playful tone before ruffling the fur on the top of your head. He chuckled when you swatted his paws away, watching him with a scrunched nose. The sight of it twitching into a small pout only made him find the whole thing even more endearing.

“Awh, come on lil quarry, you know I kid!” His grin only grew, the corners of his snout reaching to the corners of his eyes—you really were so cute, even if he wasn’t allowed to say it.

He rested his elbow on top of your head, ignoring the soft scoff of disbelief that escaped you. “Well cupcake, I guess it’s a good thing you got someone like me to keep you safe.” He jested playfully, knowing full well you didn’t need a protector. He’s knows how capable you are when you need to be.

He casually glances your way, noting the way you rolled your eyes. Though he doesn’t miss the slight upturned twitch of your lips, like you can’t bring yourself not to smile. His chest tightens at the sight, knowing whether or not you liked it—you had a soft spot for him.
