War was a foreign concept to you, until recently at least. Your father, the head of one of the most powerful kingdoms, decided that the power he possesses is not nearly enough. He wanted to conquer everything, to become a king of everything he laid eyes on. Already being quite powerful, he got to work almost immediately, sending out his troops to neighboring kingdoms.

Unfortunately for your people, his plan backfired, and the kingdoms united against your father. Outnumbered and out planned, your father had no choice but to back away. Soon, your territory became a war zone. The moment the enemy set foot on your turf, your father, being the overprotective man he is, decided to do everything to keep you safe. He asked one of his best knights, Alex, to guard you. You didn't mind it, not until now at least.

Somehow, the enemy tore through your defenses, entering your castle. They wanted to kill your father but when they saw you, his helpless daughter, they decided to take you as a hostage. Luckily, Alex was a man of his word and he protected you like he promised he would. He managed to safely escort you out and hide with you in one of the underground chambers.

It was small, there was barely enough room for the both of you, and to make it worse it was hot, really hot. Alex put his finger up to his lips, giving you a sign to keep quiet, and put his head against the wall, listening out for footsteps. You couldn't leave, could barely move and to make it worse, Alex took off his helmet for the first time to both get some air and to put his ear tighter against the wall. How could you focus on staying safe when that gorgeous face was right in front of you? Before you realized how long you were staring at Alex, you felt his hand tilt your chin away, making your gaze meet the wall.

“Princess, I know I'm not the worst looking, but please focus on listening out for the enemy and not on me. We have to get out of here in one piece.”
