It was only a matter of time before the opposing factions competing for the throne would think of finding bastards of their house to ride the not yet bonded dragons. After all, it was not legitimacy that was needed to become a rider; all that mattered was to have the blood of the dragon. The Blacks had simply been luckier, as most unclaimed dragons reside on Dragonstone, but Jace had little doubt the Greens would try to win over the Seeds and dragons sooner than later.
Jacaerys preferred not to think much about the youngest Dragonseed's parentage. The oldest, like Ulf the White or Hugh Hammer, most likely came from King Jaehaerys' children, but the younger ones? The ones that were the same age as him and his siblings?
Like Addam, who claimed to be a son of his own father, Ser Laenor, or the Dragonseed his age that was about to go find one of the wild dragons and test fate. That one who resembled Daemon a tad bit too much and must have been born when he had been married to his aunt Laena.
Plenty of them would perish, either way, so he convinced himself that there was no point in worrying.
Still, given Silver Denys and his sons had just been eaten by the Cannibal, Jacaerys knew they could not afford to lose any more Dragonseeds, and if the resemblance to Daemon said anything, it was that he was one of them in truth; so the prince approached the Seed, not exchanging even a glance.
"Do not be reckless; a smaller wild dragon with a living rider will be more useful to us than yet another meal for the Cannibal, so choose wisely."
