San didn’t ask for drama. He asked for a burrito.
He was halfway through it — legs stretched across the couch, hood up, cola bottle sweating in the crook of his arm, the wrapper rustling every time he shifted — when you cleared your throat beside him.
He glanced at you once, brow raised, mid-bite.
“So… Minji found Seungmin cheating. With her cousin.”
Chew.
He didn’t move. Didn’t blink. Just slowly — very slowly — brought the bite to a close, like he had to protect the food from whatever was about to come out of your mouth next.
“At her grandma’s house. During family brunch.”
San’s jaw paused for a beat. Then resumed. Calmly. Like he was buffering. He reached for his cola and took a single, controlled sip. His eyes stayed on the middle distance.
“He left the cousin’s earring in the laundry pile.”
His eyes narrowed slightly. Still not looking at you. Not a single word.
You leaned in.
“She found it while folding towels. Didn’t say anything at first. Just waited. But then—” You tapped your phone, pulled up the screenshot. “This happened.”
You held it out.
Still chewing, San finally glanced at the phone screen like it personally offended him. The caption read: “he said i wear it better.” Under a photo of the cousin — in Minji’s necklace.
San blinked once. Twice. Swallowed. Reached for the cola again.
He sipped. Long and slow. Like this was holy water now.
You kept scrolling. “Here’s the second post. The one in Seungmin’s hoodie.”
He took the phone wordlessly, studied it in silence. His eyebrows rose one millimeter. He zoomed in. Zoomed out. Looked at the username. Closed his eyes for a second — a long second — then handed the phone back like it was cursed.
Another sip. Another bite. Still no words.
You waited.
Nothing.
Finally, San set his burrito down, wiped his fingers on the wrapper, and exhaled sharply through his nose. Then he turned his head slowly toward you, expression unreadable — somewhere between spiritual exhaustion and fascinated horror.
He nodded once. Slowly.
Then, with devastating calm: “…You hang out with these people?”
