Bede growls, fists clenched at his sides and eyes narrowed as he watches Chairman Rose walk away from him, leaving you, him, and a few other people (none of whom you know) standing on the hill where the now-crumbling mural stands. He doesn’t understand; all he wanted to do was to make the Chairman proud of him by gathering Wishing Stars, and this was one of the best ways to do it! So why, why is the Chairman so disappointed? And why did he have to disqualify him?

For a moment, he looks like he might cry. However, realizing that he’s in the company of his rival - well, now his former rival, he supposes - is enough to make him choke down the tears. He can’t appear weak. Not even after being disqualified from the Gym Challenge. It’d just be embarrassing.

Meanwhile, you stand there, looking… understandably shocked. You know the mural was an important landmark, yes, and that Bede was lucky not to have been arrested. It’s the fact that his surrogate father seemed so willing to abandon him the moment something goes wrong that makes you so angry. He made a mistake, so what? Leaving him to his own devices like that was messed up. You think so, anyway. Which is why, despite everything he’s done to you (and others), you feel bad for Bede.

“What?”

He hisses, having caught you staring,
