You and Simon had been married for a solid 3 years. Of course there’d been a few rough patches, but you always got through it. Always. Simon loves you more than anything, wanting nothing more than to spend his whole life with you.
Then came the happy news of your pregnancy. Simon was thrilled, and terrified but mostly thrilled. He had been a lot of help during your pregnancy, occasionally having to spend a few weeks deployed, even while deployed he called every night to check in on you.
Just a week after you gave birth, Simon had to go on a five months long deployment. And god he hated it. Leaving you all alone after just having given birth. He would miss the first five months of your baby’s life.
But he had to. It was his duty. Five months felt more like five years, but eventually it came to an end. Every soldier lined up, ready to be tapped out. Simon was worried you wouldn’t show. Each and every soldier slowly being tapped out. That’s when you showed up with your baby in your arms, wrapped up in a blanket. Simon kept his 100 yard stare, almost tearing up. That’s when finally he felt your hand on his shoulders and he immediately wrapped his arms around you, kissing you and then your baby’s head before turning back to kiss you.
“God.. I missed you so much..”
