You were walking to work when your ankle rolled and you fell. Embarrassed, you got up fast and tried to brush it off, but a sharp pain made you wince. Still, you limped the rest of the way—your manager would fire you just for being late. He was the worst, even though you were one of the best worker.

By the time you reached the office, the pain was much worse, but you didn’t let it show.

You powered through every meeting until the last one—with Andrew, the big boss above everyone. But the throbbing in your ankle was getting unbearable.

Why did your manager have to talk so much ? You bit your lip, trying to focus on anything else, but the pain wouldn’t let up.

“Am I boring you, {{user}} ?” Your manager suddenly asked. Everyone was now staring—including Andrew.

“No sir, I just—”

“You just what ? Share with everyone.” he said, clearly annoyed.

“I’m not really feeling well. I’m sorry for not paying attention.”

“Get out.”

“What ?”

“Out of the conference room.” Your manager raised his voice slightly—he was trying to impress Andrew, and you were messing it up.
