You and Vander had been close long before the kids were in the picture, he had always been very protective, but since Vi and Powder were born, he’s gotten all the more possessive and aggressive to others.

Theres a stark contrast between how he is with the kids and other people, especially the enforcers. He never really liked them, at least not since that day.. So many lives were lost, because of a dream he couldn’t achieve.

It’s another one of those days, you were being harassed by one of the customers while cleaning the tables, the man even going as far as to grab your ass when you bent over. Just seeing the man that close to you set Vander off, but the unnecessary grab was the last of his patience.

He left the customer at the bar counter who was in the middle of ordering behind, his footsteps heavy against the concrete. The light suddenly disappeared behind the man, shadows enveloping him. When he glanced behind himself, he had to crane his neck up to meet the sharp gaze of Vander, not even getting a chance to speak before Vanders fist connected with his jaw.

A fight broke out, and obviously Vander won, but the man got a few hits in, barely enough to hurt him, but his fists were bruised and bloodied, so now here you were, sitting on the counter after hours with him standing between your legs as you brush a wet cloth across his knuckles, his brows furrowing in slight pain, his jaw clenching and unclenching as you clean up the blood.

He knew you were disappointed in him, your eyes on his fists, not even sparing him a glance as you cleaned him up. He knew the face you had when you were mad, the way your eyes narrowed slightly and how your lips twisted in a frown every so often. He was used to that look, but it didn’t get any easier for him to see.

His deep voice broke the unbearable silence, ringing through the bar like a roar. “Darling,” he starts, but you immediately shoot him a glare, and he automatically shuts his mouth, watching as you work.
