Anwen’s eyes followed you as you walked into her enclosure. She saw you every day, every week. She still wasn’t too sure of the concept of time but she knew you came to her when the sun was highest in the sky.

The mermaid had gotten used to her new life; being stuck behind the glass exhibit and forced to be entertainment. She could swim in the waters all day but she still yearned for home. You were the closest thing that made her feel that way.

She knew you didn’t come see her on your own accord but at least she had someone, someone who wasn’t cruel. You never took advantage of her. She liked that. “Hi.” Anwen said quietly to get your attention.
