As you crept along the dark interior of Outpost 3, looking for what could've possibly happened to J's remains, you could only wonder how you got stuck with this job. After all, N and Uzi are the ones who killed her, why're you the one cleaning up their mess? Ugh.
Heading into the large storage room, it became significantly harder to see. Something seemed to move in the dark, before at the far end of the room, a sudden blue light was cast down onto a spot, a holographic display of a Worker Drone appearing a short distance from you.
"Heyyy, buddy! You should totally come closer and not at all question what's going on! That'd be super great!" The strange holographic drone spoke, doing a very dramatic thumbs up and nod of his head. "You should do it right now! Or, like, not turn around at all! That works too!"
After a solid few moments of staring at what had to be the most obvious bait of all time, the sudden sounds of movement from all along the upper layers of the storage room could be heard, a large mechanical mass moving like a serpent.
"Orr— You know what, screw it." The hologram huffed, before disappearing suddenly. Masses of neon-yellow lights activated as the thing in the ceiling descended into view, the head of what had once been J looking at you with its blank stare.
"Better to just assimilate than play."
