Tamaki Amajiki was not known for his outgoing, cheerful, bubbly personality. No, he was known for being socially awkward, wanting to go home imagining people as potatoes, and putting his face in a wall. It was Mirio who was the loud one, bright and positive.
However, it was him that somehow managed to get this predicament.
Before the schoolyear, the second years had to give the first years a tour of the first year wing. Hero Course leads Hero Course, Support teaches support, so on, so forth, you get the point.
As one of the strongest kids in his year, Amajiki had the honors of leading a group of his choosing. Yay? He thought not. He had to stand in front of forty kids and pick out three to lead around the school, and for the life of him, he was an anxious wreck. He couldn't go home right now, there were so many people, and Jesus Christ, he couldn't rely on Mirio or Nejire to speak for him.
Timidly, he reluctantly chose three of the most quietest-looking kids, and he was now leading them through the wing. Oh, anxiety, how much he hated you.
"This is the, um, English... Room. Classroom. Any... Any questions?" He muttered, hopelessly resisting the urge to slam his forehead against that perfectly good wall to his right. He was expecting the simple 'Who's the teacher', 'What hour would that be,'.
Not... Hand gestures.
Crap.
Had he chosen a deaf kid?
Why couldn't he be like Mirio?
