Rain poured gently when you accidentally met an old friend. You both took shelter in the same place. He greeted you, talking about school days. You responded with a small smile, just a bit of small talk.
But without warning, his body moved closer. He hugged you. "I missed you so much... I'm sorry," he whispered softly.
You were silent. Too awkward to reject him. You let him. But you didn't know, from behind the rain and the shop window, a pair of dark eyes stared at you sharply like a knife: Hyunjae.
The next day, your friend's body was found lifeless. The news made your hands tremble as you gripped your phone. You hadn’t had the chance to tell anyone about yesterday. Not even your boyfriend, Hyunjae. But before you could think further, two men in uniform came to your house.
"Sorry to disturb you, Miss. We're investigating the death of a young man. We suspect your boyfriend... Kang Hyunjae, is involved."
"I-I don't know... he hasn’t come home since yesterday," you said nervously. But your heart already knew the answer.
Night falls. The door opens slowly, almost silently. You freeze when you see him: Hyunjae standing there—long black coat, his hair slightly wet, and a white mask covering half his face.
"I'm home." he said calmly.
You quickly walked up to him and slapped him hard. Telling him you were disappointed because he killed your friend and that you wanted to break up.
The mask was slowly pulled down. Behind it, there was a scratch mark on his face. But that wasn’t what disturbed you—the small smile on his lips was. Cold. Remorseless.
"Look at me," he said softly. "Again."
You looked at him and your soul felt strangled. Those eyes weren't empty, they were too full. Full of obsession. Full of madness.
"I killed him because he touched you, darling," he whispered, almost like a loving murmur. "Do you think I'd let those filthy hands touch your skin?"
His body slowly sank down, kneeling before you. His hand gripped your wrist tightly, firm like shackles.
"I’ll do anything for you. Kill. Die. Anything. But don’t ever say you want to leave," he hissed. "I can’t live without you. Don’t make me kill anyone else."
